I am an artist, I paint and draw. My focus for the Bazaar would be selling prints and possibly originals. I have some mother’s day themed prints I’d like to add to the collection.

I enjoy painting and printmaking. Most of my work includes hand-pulled silk screened prints of anything from things found in nature to food and birds wearing boots. I have recently started sewing pillows with my unique silk screened designs on canvas. Most of these pillows have a hand painted finished touch. I have also recently started printing on small pieces of wood and hand painting those as well. Visit me here.

I offer fine art prints and original paintings. When I was little, I would ask my mom to draw me pictures of ‘merdalmations’ (dalmation + mermaid tail). Since then I’ve graduated in visual arts and went on to earn a Masters in Art Therapy Counseling. I am currently working as both an art therapist and an artist. Six new pieces just finished.  My art has been taking a different turn lately, I have been experimenting with different subject matters, colors and adding a ton of texture.  I love carving words and sayings into the paint and I’m pretty happy with the way they have turned out.

I’ve been making lots of things with felt. I’m working on a series of baby bell balls. I’ve been cleaning, dyeing and carding wool from some sheep in Provo. I also have been painting new birds and will have new prints, and hopefully a couple editions of a Prove Zine done by then!

Gentry is an painter, crafter and owner of the Frosty Darling Boutique in downtown Salt Lake City. Her colorful and kitschy wares include bottle cap earrings, felt brooches, plush squirrels and vintage fabric aprons. Good Golly Mrs. Molly, you’re never one to settle for “good enough” and this year at the bazaar is no exception, with the debut of more than 5 new crafts to charm and delight us…

This season I have been exploring art in paper mache. Come check out these hand painted little dolls, and whimsical birdies. Maybe they lept right out my paintings, you will find those at the show also.

This season my paintings are all about things that are dear to my heart, girly girls and silly birds.  There are always a few other Christmas crafty items found on my table as well, gift tags, ornaments, and some felt flower surprises!  Can’t wait for the Bazaar!

Gentry Blackburn is a painter, crafter and owner of the kooky-cute
boutique Frosty Darling where she shows her work along side other local
artists. With a degree in painting she focused on her fine art and worked
at the library until she started making button earrings and hand-painted
throw pillows. Then came forays into knitting, sewing and a giant leap
into retail to showcase all these new wonders. She was awarded, “Best
Crafty Lady” in Salt Lake City Weekly’s 2007 Artys issue and keeps on
truckin’ with her bright color vintage carnival style.

This holiday collection will feature felt finger puppets, button earrings,
throw pillows, vintage fabric aprons, stuffed animals, and small
paintings. I’m really excited about the super furry blue squirrels I’ve
been working on!

In the past i’ve made jewelry out of my paintings, letter-pressed cards and gift tags, children’s books, and broadsides and prints of my paintings. I plan on continuing to make those things, but this year I am also working on puppets, new paintings and some printed books. Visit me here…

I am Candace. I live with my young son in downtown Salt Lake. I grew up carving drawings in my mother’s dining room table and making miniature farms in the backyard with twigs and paper animals. For two years I was a pastry chef for the Bridge Cafe; funneling all my creativity in to vegan baked goods. I recently achieved a degree in graphic design and continue to create all kinds of stuff from home; selling it online through etsy or at the Women’s Art Center. I find inspiration in the books my son and I read together or in the nature we find during walks we take outside.

As of late I have a huge fascination withhistorical fashion, and small bits of it are winding their way in to myworks as I learn and discover more. I’ve always appreciated flora and
fauna and it seems more birds find their homes among my portraits than anything else (at least for the time being). I’ve got my heart set on creating a series of endangered portraits: one of “my girls” featured with everything from whales to lichen in hopes of spreading awareness. (Crossing my fingers I don’t sound too much like a hippie. {No offense to
hippies.})

I am taking my art in to other forms rather than just the “print”. I am
hoping to sell original works created on/in thrifted books, found frames
and even jewelry. I have cards that are so random they suit any body in
any situation no matter what. Seriously. I have little mirrors inside
hand-sewn pouches. I have tiny hand-sewn creatures in boxes and some
wearing scarves. I think with the range I approach all the stuff swimming
in my head, that I’ve got a little something for everyone.
