A curated collection of handmade goods from artists outside of Utah. Mineral & Matter carries a select group of my favorite artisans and offers their wares at pop up shops (or tables!) throughout the year.

I hand-illustrate a variety of paper goods: greeting cards, stationery, invitations, toy bin tags, wall prints, recipe cards, bookplates, and custom designs, too. I also make little flags for cakes and other baked goodies. I like my designs to be simple and clean with a bit of color and a little whimsy.

I repurpose home decor items. I hand paint all of the picture frames that I use and repaint the accessories that I sell. This year I have a whole new line of artwork that has been created by my mother and I. Our latest collection consists of the cutest owls you have ever seen. I have also started designing screen printed book bag style totes with original art and have started selling printed cards.

I’m all about the thrill of the hunt. I canvas thrift stores, estate sales, and even those sketchy antique stores that no girl in her right mind would walk into alone. I’m looking for that one awesome thing that is irrevocably unique. I think the pc term for what I make is vintage altered art assemblage. But let me break it down…I find cool old stuff and make it into cool new stuff. Some of my recent projects are vintage planters filled with vintage goodness, gumball machines aren’t just for gumballs anymore, frames of misfit toys (you can spot one of these on Stephanie Nielson’s, of the Nie Nie dialogue’s, blog…shameless plug for me) and altered birdcage dolls. While some of my pieces might bare a striking family resemblance, because they’re vintage by nature, they’re truly one of a kind. What I find determines what I make, so it’s hard to pin point what’s next in the repertoire. You can sometimes call IT kitschy, sometimes call IT shabby, sometimes call IT retro, but you can always call IT courtney.

I offer fine art prints and original paintings. When I was little, I would ask my mom to draw me pictures of ‘merdalmations’ (dalmation + mermaid tail). Since then I’ve graduated in visual arts and went on to earn a Masters in Art Therapy Counseling. I am currently working as both an art therapist and an artist. Art is a form of communication and this is my visual language. Can you hear me?

Six new pieces just finished. My art has been taking a different turn lately, I have been experimenting with different subject matters, colors and adding a ton of texture. I love carving words and sayings into the paint and I’m pretty happy with the way they have turned out.

Inspired by variety, Dallas never makes the same thing twice. She loves to sew and embroider; she dabbles in crocheting, she beads and makes jewelry. So hurry, hurry, hurry, step right up and get your ticket for the imagination contortionist and all of her wonderful oddities. Easily Amused gifts are intended for the frequently exuberant, the blatantly giddy, the often nostalgic and, of course, the easily amused. If you miss the attention to detail of yesteryear Dallas is your gal; her one of a kind creations are great to have and share.

After looking at countless Dutch and Swiss graphic design work from the 1950 – 60′s, I got insanely inspired to design and screen print up quite a few art posters that all have elements found in those vintage sources.
All of the posters are printed by hand using soy based screen printing ink.

No one is perfect, but we are all beautiful. These pendants give the feeling of being beautiful, unique and rough around the edges all at the same time. My work reflects the wonderful, flawed idiosyncrasies in us all. And it makes us breath-taking.
I make hand melted, hand stamped pendants. There are a variety of fonts and types, ranging from chunky and “wonky” to tiny and sophisticated. As you can’t control where the metal flows when you stamp them, they are each different and no two can be exactly alike. I am very passionate about the charm and individuality these pendants represent.

Sycamore Street Press is the full-time family business of Kirk and Eva Jorgensen. We are dedicated to combining fresh designs, sustainable methods, and the vintage charm of letterpress printing. We collaborate with a few of our friends to create the designs for our cards, posters, gift tags, frame mats, fortune tellers, etc… Then Kirk and I crank each item through our Vandercook press by hand to achieve the texture and impression that letterpress is known for. We love the creative, collaborative nature of our work and we love sharing the beauty of letterpress with others!

I focus on art cards and prints created from my illustrations and paintings, but also use my “girls” to make art dolls, hairpins, pendants and other things. I’ve been working the last little while to even further improve my giclée prints (new pretty paper!) and make available BIGGER print sizes (I’m so excited!). I hope to bring many new designs and not-yet-seen prints to the spring show.

Her colorful and kitschy wares include bottle cap earrings, felt brooches, plush squirrels and vintage fabric aprons. Her focus this year has been a series of small paintings of 70′s and 80′s television shows and a collection of accessories and housewares celebrating her favorite state, Utah!

Lately I’ve been drawing pictures, mostly of forests and mushrooms and little girls and robots…things that make me happy! I will have framed pictures for sale, and have also transferred some drawings to screens to print. I will be printing deer, elephants, mushrooms and robots onto stockings, leggings, dresses, scarves and cards. I’ll probably find ways to incorporate vintage trimmings and buttons onto them, as I’ve been stocking up. I can’t wait!

Turn it upside down. Stretch it. Shrink it. Make it two-dimensional. Make it move. Make it fly. Fold it. Use a different texture. Rearrange the elements. Make it look futuristic….
With each piece I create, I try to gain ideas and ask myself how I am going to follow thru and make the finished piece the most unique and interesting that it can be.
Inspired by everything from bauhaus graphic design, The Beatles, to Wes Anderson films.
I mainly screen print t-shirts, fabric, wood and paper. I also make backpacks and other bags using my own patterns and design.

I’ll have plenty this year including some of the linocut cards I had in the spring 2007 show back as signed prints. My main focus will be clothing made from recycled sources such as preworn clothing, scraps, and thrift store fabric. Some of my clothing is completely original and some is based on vintage patterns with my own elements added. I have been focusing on women tops. The amount of chemicals used to produce and process new fabrics is staggering, and it harms us and our world. My little son has autism and so of course having a world with less toxins is important to me and that is why I do what I do. Visit me!

I’ve been working really hard these last few months to increase my selection. I’ll have-all new prints of never-before-seen girls and characters in time for this show, both as open and limited editions. I’ve got new necklace designs and have expanded my product selection into bookmarks, magnets, gift tags, stationery and notepads. I also plan to have ready unique, holiday-themed designs perfect for December. A few new cards have been added to the line as well, and adorable new frames have been found to house my prints and will be available; waiting and ready-to-hang. What fun! Come visit me!

Isabell’s Umbrella grew from an obsession with stationery, writing instruments and design. Ashley Giessing, owner/artist, believes she should have been born in the nineteenth century, when all correspondence was done by hand.
Specializing in stationery that will lift the clouds of a rainy day, Ashley’s hopes are to renew the lost “art” of hand correspondence by creating stationery you will want to share with others. “There is nothing that means more to me than a kind, heartfelt, handwritten note from someone I love.”
Seriously cute stationery, buttons, pillows, artwork and children clothing are just a part of my line-up.

I enjoy upcycling , creating new uses for old items. I have created several designs for what would be trash. The Animal Fairy ornaments are approximately three to six inches high, digitally reproduced, surreal , mixed media collage, which are laminated with beaded wire hangers. The smaller fairies (not laminated) make excellent gift tags. Soda cans and discarded cardboard cutout design push pins & magnets. Soda cutout designs for a pair earrings. Cardboard boxes become eco-sensitive gift tags, blank on one side. I find inspiration in daily life as well as an assistant art teacher for 1-8 graders.

I make quality and cute stuffies—in the Bazaar I’m planning on featuring my Blastoid Cats and Gorillas/Gorillies. I’m also hoping to introduce my poster line of Christian and LDS specific posters that share a religious message without calligraphy and a country blue or maroon color palette. Christian artwork doesn’t have to be stuffy or unattractive after all. ;o)

25 years ago I was born barefoot in the Utah valley. I started inventing things to make life easier, and drawing was the best way I found to describe my inventions. My drawings turned into all sorts of things: stories, characters, designs and games, and I started learning from other people’s drawings and pictures of all kinds.
Today picture-making is still a new and fascinating world for me. My wife and little boy make it easy for me to enjoy things and they are huge supports for me and my work. If I’m not inside making pictures, I’m probably outside sucking in the Fall air with my family.
My paper cut-outs are parades of shape and colour. Playful portraits of animals, people and monsters decorate my cards and wall-pictures, making them perfect for gifts or roommates.
